Russian-European Parliamentary Delegation Visits Aleppo, Hails Government’s Efforts to Rebuild the City

ALEPPO– Governor of Aleppo Hussein Diab stressed to the Russian-European Parliamentary delegation visiting Aleppo  that terrorism poses a big threat to the entire world, calling upon members of the delegation to convey the reality of the terrorist war waged against Syria and its people, SANA reported.

The Governor briefed the delegation on the systematic destruction in Aleppo due to terrorism which aimed at killing all the aspects of life through committing heinous crimes against its people and destroying archeological monuments, infrastructures, factories, services and economic facilities.

 Diab hailed the steadfastness of Aleppo inhabitants who rallied around their army and leadership despite all terror acts, noting to efforts exerted to rebuild what has been destroyed and provide necessary services and requirements to all citizens.

For his part, the Russian State Duma Deputy Chairman Vladimir Vasilyev who chairs the delegation said that the visit aimed at inspecting the reality of what happened in Aleppo and the suffering of its inhabitants.

He expressed satisfaction over steps taken to rebuild the city, especially the schools and the repair works to water and power sectors as well as other services.

The delegation members said that Aleppo has been one of the most beautiful cities in the Middle East and today it has become a symbol for steadfastness in the face of terrorism.

The parliamentary delegation visited Masaken Hanano neighborhood and inspected one the schools that was damaged due to terrorism and has been rehabilitated. They also met several families and listened to their suffering in the eastern neighborhoods of the city which were held by terrorist groups before the Syrian army restored security and stability to them.
