On the occasion of Mother’s Day, Syrian International Islamic Bank (SIIB) honored Wednesday 50 martyrs’ families at al-Assad Library in Damascus.
The honoring ceremony, held under the banner ‘Syria is Martyrs’ Mother’, included national songs, artistic show and speeches delivered by Minister of Labour and Social Affairs, Mrs. Rema Qadri and SIIB’s Executive President Mr. Abdul Qader al-Dwek.
Mrs. Qadri asserted the need to support martyrs’ families, who come within the priorities of Syrian government, pointing out that part of the work of the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs is to stimulate civil society and economic sectors to support those families.
Al-Dwek, on his part, said that the ceremony held for the second year running translates the SIIB’s social responsibility towards the Syrian people and reflects the values of solidarity and cohesion.
“The honoring is a message to every mother that souls of her brave sons will remain floodlight illuminating the road,” he added.
The Director of General Commission of Martyrs’ Families Mrs. Shahira Falloh told the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA): ” Working with Martyrs’ families is accolade, and the participation in such ceremonies proves that martyr’s sons and daughters are the sons and daughters of the homeland and it brings smile to them.”
Several martyrs’ families expressed their pride in in heroism of martyrs.
Last year, the National Social Association “SouriaBtjmana ” [Syria brings us together] in cooperation with SIIB honored martyrs ‘mothers in the same library.
SIIB, opened in 2007, has several branches and offices in different Syrian areas.
