India Keen on Participating in Syria’s Reconstruction

NEW DELHI, (ST)-Minister of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises of India Anant Geete has expressed his country’s support for Syria against terrorism and stressed its keenness on participating in Syria’s reconstruction process.

Geete was speaking during his meeting on Wednesday with Syria’s Ambassador to India Riad Abbas who, on his part, affirmed Syria’s keenness on providing all facilitations necessary to carry out Indian investment projects.

He thanked the Indian government over its support for Syria at different international gatherings and hailed its efforts to enhance Indian-Syrian cooperation.

Abbas noted the need to reactivate the Indian projects that had begun before the terrorist war on Syria, particularly Tishreen Electric Power Generation Station, as the circumstances are now more suitable for accomplishing it.
