The latest development of terrorist aggression on Syria was the main topic discussed on Monday by Deputy Minister of Expatriates and Foreign Affairs Ayman Susan and a delegation representing the Syrian Expatriates Committee in Kuwait.
Susan told the delegation that the Syrian people’s steadfastness, heroism of Syrian Arab army and wisdom of President Bashar al-Assad have managed to foil conspiracy against the country and the Arab nation.
He referred to successive victories achieved by the Syrian army over terrorist organizations, including the recent liberation of Palmyra city [Tadmor] from ISIS terrorists.
“Syria has positively dealt with all sincere efforts based on protecting the country’s unity and sovereignty to reach a solution to current crisis,” the diplomat said, pointing out that only the Syrian people have the right to decide the future of their country and to reject any foreign intervention in its affairs.
He highly appreciated expatriates’ stances towards conspiracy hatched against their homeland, according to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA).
The agency quoted the delegation’s members as saying that they are ready to do anything for enhancing the homeland’ steadfastness and for contributing to the reconstruction process.
The expatriates expressed their pride in the Syrian people’s steadfastness and the Syrian army’s victories over foreign-backed terrorist groups.
Since 2011, Syria has faced a foreign-backed terror war targeting its army, people, civilization and infrastructures in accordance with US-Zionist plot that aims to fragment the region and to have hegemony over its wealth.
Mufti meets expatriates
Also today, the Republic’s Grand Mufti Sheikh Ahmad Badereddin Hassoun met the expatriates and talked about what the Syrians, who are living in Kuwait, have offered over the past years.
He underscored the need to strengthen links between expatriates and their homeland and to encourage their contribution in the reconstruction process.
The expatriates said that they have ideas for several development and investment projects, especially for martyrs’ families.
