Al-Moallem Hails Armenia’s Support for Syria against Terrorist War

DAMASCUS, (ST)- Marking the 25th anniversary of establishing diplomatic ties between Syria and Armenia, Deputy Premier, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Walid al-Moallem and the Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian on Monday exchanged messages of appreciation.

Al-Moallem hailed Armenia’s support for Syria against the terrorist aggression and stressed that the distinguished diplomatic relations between the two countries embody the deep-rooted historical ties between the Syrian and Armenian peoples.

 On his part, Nalbandian renewed the Armenian people’s gratitude to the Syrian people for the humanitarian care they provided to the Armenians who fled and survived the genocide committed y the Ottomans against the Armenia people.

He affirmed the need to consolidate peace and security in Syria and to condemn international terrorism.

The two ministers expressed willingness to boost cooperation in different fields to the level of the distinguished political relations between the two countries.
