Talks with de Mistura not Suspended: Source

GENEVA, (ST)- Claims by some Gulf media outlets that talks with the UN Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura have been suspended are nothing but rumors aiming to disrupt the talks, according to a source close to the Syrian Arab Republic’s delegation to the Intra-Syrian dialogue in Geneva.

“These repeated rumors by al-Arabiyya and al-Jazeera TV channels come within the framework of their sought to disrupt and foil the talks; an attempt that goes in harmony with the stances of the Saudi and Qatari governments which support terrorism in Syria and undermine efforts to stop bloodshed in the country,” said the source.

The source added that “the delegation of the Syrian Arab Republic stresses that it will continue the talks as scheduled by the United Nations and that it will spare no effort as to seize every opportunity for dialogue that protects the Syrian people and stops bloodshed.
