Iran’s nuclear activities in line with JCPOA, says IAEA Director-General

TEHRAN- The first report by Director-General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Yukiya Amano in 2017 has reaffirmed that Iran’s all nuclear activities are in line with the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, Iran’s envoy to Vienna said.

The 35 members of the IAEA Board of Governors were provided with the first 2017 seasonal report on Iran nuclear deal also known as JCPOA on Friday.

“Generally, the recent report is the same as the previous edition and some parts regarding technical developments have been added,” Ambassador and Permanent Representative to United Nations (Vienna) Reza Najafi emphasized.

Injecting gas to IR8 centrifuge which confirms Iran’s ongoing research and developmental nuclear activities based on long-term plan is mentioned in the report as the most important development.

He expressed congratulations to Iranian scientists over the fresh achievements, saying that referring to joint commission adopted documents and their implementation and also finalizing Fordo measures are among new articles of the report.

“Other articles of the report consist of verifying exported heavy water consignment abroad which is supposed to be sold to foreign customers,” he added.

Importing the first five-kg 20-percent enriched uranium to be used in Tehran’s reactor and accepting new investigators are also mentioned in the report.

He also pointed to importing 125 tons of yellow cake as topic mentioned in the report.
