PA Speaker: Terror War on Syria Aims to Weaken Its Role in Supporting Palestinian Cause
Speaker of the People’s Assembly [parliament] Hadiyah Abbas has reiterated that Syria has always been and will remain the main supporter for the Palestinian people’s struggle and their legitimate rights, indicating that the main cause of the global war being launched on Syria is its firm stances towards defending the Palestinian people and supporting resistance.
Addressing the 6th International Conference on Palestinian Intifada (uprising) being held in Tehran, Abbas pointed out that the terror war on Syria aims to weaken its role in supporting the Palestinian cause and resistance against occupation.
“The Zionist entity has supported terrorists organizations in Syria military and logistically and it has received wounded terrorists in its hospitals. This proves the strong link between ‘Israel’ and the Takfiri terrorist plot against Syria and the region,” the speaker added.
Great service to Israel
She stressed that the countries, which have supported terrorism in Syria and have involved in killing Syrian people and destroying the country’s institutes, economy and infrastructures , have delivered a great service to the Zionist entity that seeks by all means to weaken Syria’s role and resistance and to carry out its expansion project in the region.
“The conference is being held during difficult circumstances and challenges that face the Palestinian cause and the whole region, so it is necessary to reach mechanisms and plans that contribute to supporting the Palestinian people’s struggle and to unify their efforts in confronting the occupation in order to liberate Palestine, to restore legitimate rights and to establish an independent Palestinian state with al-Quds (Jerusalem) as its capital,” Abbas said.
‘The fiercest enemy’
“Today, we are facing the fiercest enemy in history manifested in the international trans-boundary terrorism, which unfortunately receive support and money from some regional and western countries. This terrorism, which undermines our countries’ capabilities, is the other face of Zionist terrorism. So, we think, that defeating terrorism in Syria, Iraq and everywhere is the way to support the Palestinian people and to confront the Israeli enemy as well as to protect our countries and our peoples’ rights.”
The PA Speaker asserted that “victory necessitates cooperation between our countries and mobilization of capabilities to fight al-Qaeda terrorism and Israel terrorism that pose threat to the future of the region’s peoples and peace in the world.
She made it clear that Syria faces a war led by regional and western countries that depended on terrorists who came from more than 100 countries to Syria.
Serious initiatives
“Since the start of the crisis, the Syrian government has abided by cooperation with all serious initiatives to reach an exit from the crisis and it has participated in talks held in Geneva and Astana because it believes that Syrian-Syrian dialogue is the only way to reach solution and to restore stability and peace to the country,” Abbas added, referring to local reconciliations in the country.
She conveyed the greetings of the Syrian people and President Bashar Al-Assad to the participants in the conference and she thanked Iran, Russia, the Lebanese national resistance and all political forces and governments that supported Syria in confronting the terror war and enhanced Syrian people’s steadfastness.
