DAMASCUS, (ST) – The People’s Assembly (PA) on Monday approved a bill providing for the ratification of the credit line agreement signed in Tehran on Jan. 16, 2013 by the Commercial Bank of Syria and the Export Development Bank of Iran at an amount of one billion dollars. The agreement aims to fund imports of Iranian origin and to implement different projects.
During a session chaired by PA Speaker Mohammad Jihad al-Lahham, MPs stressed the importance of the bill in enhancing cooperation and friendly ties between Syria and Iran and in consolidating Syria’s financial and economic situation under the current crisis, referring to Iran’s support to Syria in confrontation of a world conspiracy.
The PA also approved nine articles from the draft law which organizes the Dentists Union work.
