Oil Ministry Distributes 8 million Liters of Gasoline and Fuel oil on Syrian Provinces

DAMASCUS, (ST)- Minister of Oil and Mineral Resources Ali Ghanem on Sunday said that the ministry has distributed 4 million liters of gasoline and 4 million others of fuel oil on the Syrian provinces.

The procedure was taken after imports of oil derivatives arrived to Syria, the minister added.

In a statement to SANA, Ghanem clarified that the current lack in oil derivatives is the result of dependence only on oil imports to ensure fuel and meet the daily need to compensate the lack in the gas necessary to operate power generating stations. In addition, oil supplies have suddenly stopped for months, he said.

He pointed out that the oil products will be distributed on provinces according to the need.

 Prime Minister Imad Khamis said in a People’s Assembly meeting on February 5, that the government has signed deals at 200 billion Syrian Pounds to ensure oil necessary to enhance fuel oil and gasoline supplies.
