Syrian Government Sparing No Effort to Deliver Humanitarian Aid to Palestinians in Syria: Al-Mikdad

DAMASCUS, (ST)- Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Faysal al-Mikdad on Monday received Mohammad Adar, the new Director of UNRWA Affairs in Syria.

Al-Mikdad talked about the current situation in Syria and the terrorist organizations’ systematic attacks against Palestinian camps in the country, noting that these attacks came in implementation of the Israeli plan to target the Palestinians wherever they are in order to eliminate their right to return to their homeland, Palestine, and to deprive them from their right to self determination.

“This indicates Israel’s strong link to terrorism,” reiterated al-Mikdad.

The deputy minister affirmed the Syrian government’s support for and cooperation with UNRWA’s activities in Syria starting from the keenness of the Syrian Arab Republic on maintaining the Palestinian cause and preserving the Palestinian people’s rights.

He pointed out that the Syrian government has spared no effort to deliver humanitarian aid to Palestinians wherever they are in Syria.

On his part, the new UNRWA affairs director stressed that he will do his best to maintain good level of cooperation between the agency and the Syrian government to provide support and services for Palestinian refugees in Syria and to rehabilitate some camps in order to help refugees continue their normal life.
