Crisis in Final Stages – Interior Minister

DAMASCUS, (ST) _”  The conspiracy which targeted Syria’s territorial integrity and steadfast role is in its final stages, thanks to people and leadership solidarity in repelling this plot,” said minister of the Interior Brig. Muhammad al-Shaar.

Meeting with members of public freedoms and human rights committee at the people’s Assembly on Sunday, the minister noted the ministry’s role, together with competent authorities in fighting terrorism, prosecuting criminals  and introducing reforms in central prisons

He also noted measures to reconstruct the ministry, through Decrees No. 1 and 2 in 2012 provide for improving the performance of ministry’s employees and the special attention given to the families of the internal security forces.

Concerning the political program adopted by the government to resolve the crisis in Syria, the minister indicated the Ministry’s statements, inviting Syrians who were forces to leave their lands to return back so as to settle their conditions and all Syrian opposition forces abroad to take part in the national dialogue.

Members of the Committee commended the role played by the ministry under the current circumstances in rendering best services to citizens and in rehabilitation of prisoners and integrating them into society.
