Syrian-Iranian Political Committee Hails Syrian Army’s Victories over Takfiri Terrorists

TEHRAN, (ST)-The Syrian-Iranian Joint Political Committee held its periodical meetings on Tuesday at the Iranian Foreign Ministry headquarters within the framework of the visit of Prime Minister Imad Khamis to the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The Committee’s meetings were co-chaired by Syria’s Deputy Foreign Minister Faysal al-Mikdad and the Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Jaberi Ansari.

The two sides discussed the latest developments in the region, particularly the victories achieved by the Syrian Arab army and its allies against the terrorist takfiri gangs, particularly the liberation of Aleppo from terrorism.

 They affirmed that victory on takfiri terrorism in Syria is a historical achievement for the entire resistance axis.

Discussions during the meetings focused on the ongoing preparations to hold the intra-Syrian dialogue in Astana on January 23, 2017.

The two sides reiterated the importance of coordination and consultations in all political and economic fields to serve the interests of the two countries.
