SWEIDAA, (ST)- Syrian farmers from the city of Sweida on Saturday sent a 50-tonne shipment of apples for the recently liberated people of Aleppo to express their solidarity with their fellow citizens who suffered a lot from terrorism.
Sweidaa Governor Amer Ibrahim al-Ashi , who supervised sending the shipment, said that “this initiative by the locals of Sweidaa affirms national cohesion among the Syrians and expresses the appreciation and amity of the people of Sweidaa to the steadfast people of Aleppo who defended their city against mercenaries and takfiri terrorists.”
The governor added that “the heralds of victory over terrorism have become evident in Aleppo thanks to the steadfastness of its people and the sacrifices of the Syrian army’s heroes who are carrying on their national mission to protect civilians and rid them of terrorists.”
Yase al-Shoufi, Secretary of the Baath Party Branch in Sweidaa, said “the shipment is a symbolic gift from Sweidaa locals to their brothers in Aleppo, affirming the cohesive national Syrian fiber and stressing that Aleppo victory is a victory for all the Syrians.”
The shipment carries 50 tonnes of apples and more shipments will be sent the people of Aleppo within the coming days, according to Member of the People’s Assembly Mueen Naser.
Last week a shipment of food materials, medicine and clothes, presented by the people of Damascus and Damascus countryside provinces, was sent to the families that escaped the eastern districts of Aleppo to help alleviate their suffering.
A few days ago, the people of Lattakia also sent a convoy of trucks carrying citrus fruit for the residents of Aleppo eastern neighborhoods who fled the atrocities of the terrorists in their areas.
