SWEIDAA, (ST)- Syrian farmers from the city of Sweida on Saturday sent a 50-tonne shipment of apples for the recently liberated people of Aleppo to express their solidarity with their fellow citizens who suffered a lot from terrorism.

Sweidaa Governor Amer Ibrahim al-Ashi , who supervised sending the shipment, said that “this initiative by the locals of Sweidaa affirms national cohesion among the Syrians and expresses the appreciation and amity of the people of Sweidaa to the steadfast people of Aleppo who defended their city against mercenaries and takfiri terrorists.”

The governor added that “the heralds of victory over terrorism have become evident in Aleppo thanks to the steadfastness of its people and the sacrifices of the Syrian army’s heroes who are carrying on their national mission to protect civilians and rid them of terrorists.”

Yase al-Shoufi, Secretary of the Baath Party Branch in Sweidaa, said “the shipment is a symbolic gift from Sweidaa locals to their brothers in Aleppo, affirming the cohesive national Syrian fiber and stressing that Aleppo victory is a victory for all the Syrians.”
