Venezuela Reaffirms Support for Syria against Terrorism

DAMASCUS, (ST)-Imad Saab, Ambassador of the Bolivarian Republic  of Venezuela, renewed his country’s support for and solidarity with the Syrian people, army and leadership in the confrontation of terrorism. He pointed out that there are many points of similarity between Syria and Venezuela including the parties conspiring on both countries.

Saab made the remarks during a meeting held on Tuesday at the Venezuelan Embassy in Damascus to shed light on the achievements of the Bolivarian Revolution over the past fifteen years, the pre-revolution era and the latest developments in Venezuela.

The ambassador affirmed that Venezuela’s voting against a Security Council resolution calling for a truce in Aleppo has contributed, alongside the Chinese and Russian vetoes, to confronting the United States and its allies.

He pointed out that Venezuela’s sovereign position in the Security Council is one of the achievements of late leader Hugo Chavez, noting that many states that occupied Security Council seats throughout history have implemented American dictates and served the American policy.

He went on to say that private media outlets in Venezuela practice “media dictatorship” and they are allies to imperialism-linked international media networks which never talk about the achievements of the Bolivarian revolution in the areas of health food, education, social services, labor and technology.

He said that what is going on in Venezuela has to do with attempts of Imperialism and its tools to undermine the country’s economy.
