DAMASCUS, (ST)-Syria has strongly condemned the terrorist organizations’ shelling of a Russian mobile hospitals in Aleppo and the continuous terrorist attacks on civilians in Aleppo ad other Syrian cities, according to a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates.
“The attack on the Russian hospital, which provides medical care to victims of takfiri terrorism, killed and wounded a number of hospital staff,” the ministry on Tuesday.
“These criminal attacks clarify the terrorist nature of the armed groups which the west and its tools in the region insist on describing them as moderate,” the ministry added, holding the western and regional countries, which support terrorists and ignore their atrocities, fully responsible for these crimes politically and legally and consequently for the deteriorating humanitarian situation in Syria.
The ministry stressed that “Syria won’t keep its citizens in the eastern districts of Aleppo as hostages in the hands of the terrorist groups and will spare no effort to liberate them. Thus it refuses any attempt by whoever to stop counter-terrorism operation in the eastern neighborhoods unless it includes the withdrawal of all the terrorists from the area.”
The ministry’s statement expressed Syria’s gratitude for Russia and China for vetoing a Security Council resolution that calls for a truce in Aleppo without urging the gunmen in the area to withdraw which means that this truce can be used by the terrorists to regroup and rearm as to commit further crimes.
According to the ministry, The Syrian Arab Republic renews its commitment to providing all forms of assistance to the citizens who are victims of takfiri terrorism and western hypocrisy and it affirms that eliminating terrorism is the only way to end the suffering of innocent people and restore security and stability to the country.
Concluding its statement, the ministry extended Syria’s condolences to Russia and the families of the victims wishing the wounded speed recovery.
