Syrians are Determinant to Expel Terrorists from Their Towns

 DAMASCUS COUNTRYSIDE,(ST)_  Damascus Countryside governor Hussein Makhlouf  met on Tuesday with more than 300 citizens  from  Babila and Daf al-Shouk towns who proposed an initiative for restoring back security and safety to their towns provide for  getting  gunmen out, and  regularizing  the situation of the misled after they surrendered themselves to the state. This initiative is to be completed  through a committee to be formed  by citizens.

“Armed manifestations and violence are but practices that are strange  for us  and the majority of gunmen came from far away, the citizens said,  stressing the  need ” to restore security and safety, disarmament and restoration of the rights of citizens , ensuring  the requirements of living and facilitate the return of displaced families to their homes.

They called for  regularization of situation of the misled, who did not commit killing crimes  in the two towns  and affected citizens to be compensated  and their houses to be restored.

 
Babila  Mosque Imam Ahmed Osama al-Daba’ underlined the importance of such meetings, stressing  the need to  ” incline to the language of dialogue instead of the language of violence.”

Parliament member for Beit Sohom  Ziad Sukkari stressed the need to ” abolish armed manifestations “, stressing that the only legitimate weapon is that of  state and the Syrian Arab Army.
The governor, for his part,  welcomed this  positive initiative that will contribute to the restoration of security and safety  to the two towns, stressing that the governorate devotes all efforts  to perpetuate security in all areas and foster bridges of trust with citizens.

Makhlouf considered the initiative as a prelude to the launch of the comprehensive national dialogue, which is a road map for eliminating  hard times  and resolve the crisis in Syria, calling for “dedication to national reconciliation and forgiveness to strengthen tolerance  among all Syrians.”

He explained that this  meeting is  one of a series of meetings  held earlier  with citizens  of certain areas , where terrorists had entered “, noting that citizens had expelled  insurgents from Mleiha, Aqraba, and  Beit Sohom towns and  thereafter maintenance and technical services workshops  managed rehabilitation  of affected facilities in the said areas.

The governor  also called on everyone to work to protect public and private property and to communicate with the misled to bring them back to the right path, stressing that “doors  are open for all to regularize their status and return to their normal lives.”
