Syria Committed to Fighting Terrorism, Seeking Political Solution to Crisis: al-Jaafari

NEW YORK, (ST)- The Syrian government is committed to fighting terrorism and seeking political solution to the crisis through intra-Syrian dialogue away from foreign interference and without preconditions, Syria’s Permanent Representative at the United Nations Bashar Al-Jaafari has stressed.

In a statement during a Security Council session on Wednesday on the situation in the Middle East, al-Jaafari said “the liberation of more than 80 thousand children and women in Aleppo was not part of the plans of the foreign ministries of the United States, France and Britain which always claim defending civilians in Aleppo.”

“Once again sponsors of “Jabhat al-Nusra” terrorist organization and its affiliated groups call for holding an urgent Security Council session in an attempt to offer moral and political support to the terrorists,” said al-Jaafari.

He added that the continuity of exploiting the Syrian blood and the Syrian humanitarian file won’t stop Syria from doing its legal duty in fighting terrorism in cooperation with its allies.

Churkin: Our partners couldn’t separate terrorists fro “moderate opposition”

On his part, the Russia Permanent Envoy at the United Nation Vitaly Churkin said the Syrian army has achieved moral victory in Aleppo.

He referred to the United States’ disability to dissociate the terrorists from the so-called “”opposition”

“Our partners couldn’t implement their pledges to separate the “moderate opposition” from the terrorists in Syria,” said Churkin, pointing out that “Russia sees separating “Jabhat al-Nusra” from the “opposition” as a condition to halt the fight in Aleppo.
