Putin Discusses Syrian Army’s Advance in Eastern Parts of Aleppo with Russian Security Council

MOSCOW — Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday discussed with permanent members of Russia’s Security Council the advance of the Syrian army forces in Eastern districts of Aleppo and the city’s liberation from terrorists, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Monday, according to Sputnik.

 “The advance of the Syrian army in Eastern parts of Aleppo and the liberation of a considerable number of the city quarters from terrorists were discussed during the meeting,” Peskov said.

  During the meeting, Vladimir Putin also discussed the informational presence of Russian media abroad, Dmitry Peskov said.

“The participants of the meeting exchanged views on a number of issues concerning the informational presence of Russian media abroad,” Peskov told reporters.

On November 16, the European Parliament voted in favor of a non-binding resolution on countering Russian media outlets, such as the Sputnik news agency and the RT broadcaster.

Putin earlier described the move as a clear sign of the degradation of democracy in Europe, and expressed hope that no restrictions would materialize.
