Army’s Advances in Aleppo Eastern Districts Help Thousands of Civilians Leave Terrorist-Held Areas

ALEPPO, (ST)- The rapid and notable advance of the Syrian army and allied forces in several Aleppo eastern neighborhoods has given locals, who live close to the areas liberated by the army from terrorists, the opportunity to break the siege imposed on them by the terrorists and to leave the districts and reach army positions where they were taken to the safe places, a field commander in Aleppo province told SANA reporter on Monday.

Hundreds of locals, trapped by the terrorist takfiri groups in the eastern neighborhoods of Aleppo, managed on Monday to leave amid the army’s notable advances in these areas, said the commander.

Concerned authorities in Aleppo governorate received the locals and moved them to makeshift center where they can get necessary care and have their requirements met.

On Sunday, Syrian army units secured the exit of 1500 people, most of them women and children, from the eastern neighborhoods of Aleppo and took them to makeshift centers in cooperation with concerned  parties in the governorate.

According to the Russian coordination center, more than 3,000 civilians, including 1,519 children, have left the eastern part of Aleppo over the past 24 hours.

In a statement on Monday, the center stressed that the Syrian government has provided makeshift centers,  medical assistance, food and other basic needs to the locals who left Aleppo eastern districts.

The Coordination Center continues also to deliver humanitarian aid to Aleppo’s neighborhoods liberated from terrorists.

In a relevant context, Minister of Local Administration and Environment Hussein Makhlouf asserted on Monday the government’s keenness to provide care and services for people who have managed to flee the siege of terrorists in the eastern neighborhoods of Aleppo city and the government’s efforts to provide temporary residential centers equipped with all the necessary basic materials, SANA reported.

During a meeting with the Relief Subcommittee in Aleppo, the minister called on the officials to provide facilitations and aid for citizens through continuous and systematic work of the relief subcommittee to find new temporary residential centers and supply them with public transport in addition to equipping and maintaining schools.
