PRAGUE, (ST)- Czech Minister of Foreign Affairs Lubomir Zaoralek has stressed that Syria’s future is up to the Syrians only to decide and Europe and the West have nothing to do with it.
In a lecture he made at the Higher Economic University in the Czech capital Prague on Wednesday, Zaoralek said “the West shouldn’t interfere in the Syrian Affairs, they should push towards reaching a cessation of hostilities, revive political talks and let the Syrians chose and decide their own future and representatives themselves.”
He pointed out that the crisis in Syria would have been resolved a time ago if the West hadn’t interfered.
Zaoralek expressed confidence that the war will stop and the political process in Syria will be launched again.
“The West must not repeat its mistakes in the Middle East,” said Zaoralek, pointing out that the destruction of Iraq and Libya has created a state of an all-out chaos.
