Western Media Accuses Syria, Russia of Crimes Committed by US-Led Coalition: Shaaban

MOSCOW, (ST)-Presidential Political and Media Advisor Bouthaina Shaaban has stressed that the western media has been deliberately distorting the ongoing events in Syria and accuse Syria and Russia of crimes committed by the “International coalition” led by the United States, particularly the crimes of bombarding schools, hospitals and infrastructure facilities in Syria.

In a statement during an international Conference titled “National Reconciliation and Syria’s Future” organized by the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences in Moscow on Friday, Shaaban said “Syria and Russia are in full cooperation with the United Nations, but Washington-led coalition has destroyed more than 300 schools and hospitals in Syria, yet not a single condemnation word was heard from the western media  or from the al-Jazeera or al-Arabiyya channels”.

 Over the past months, the US-led coalition targeted several economic and infrastructure facilities in Syria. Late last year, it destroyed two electric plants in al-Radwaniyeh area and water pumping stations in al-khafsa area in eastern Aleppo. It also destroyed infrastructure in Mare’, al-Bab and Tal Sha’er in northern Aleppo countryside. The coalition also committed a massacre in Tokhan al-Kubra village in northern Manbej of Aleppo countryside, killing more than 120 people.
