TEHRAN, (ST)-Iran’s Foreign Minister Javad Zarif held a meeting on Monday with the European Commissioner for Humanitarian Aid and Crisis Management, Christos Stylianides.
Talks dealt with means of delivering humanitarian aid to crises-hit countries.
Zarif highlighted Iran’s call for the enforcement of a durable cessation of hostilities in Syria, and urged efforts to deliver humanitarian aid to the Syrian people. He affirmed his country’s readiness for all forms of cooperation in this respect.
The Iranian top diplomat also urged paying more attention to the deteriorating humanitarian situation in Yemen.
On his part, the European official hailed Iran for hosting Afghan refugees and for providing Syria with various kinds of humanitarian aid.
Stylianides also highlighted Iran’s “key and positive” regional and international role.
