MP. Oussi announces formation of Christian-Kurdish-Arab Popular Resistance against Turkish invasion north of Syria
Head of the Syrian Kurdish national initiative MP. Omar Ousi has announced the formation of “United Christian-Kurdish-Arab Popular Resistance” against Turkish invasion north of Syria.
He expected a dramatic military escalation between Syrian army, its allies, People’s Protection Units and the Syrian Democratic Forces on the one hand and The Turkish army and terrorist groups on the other hand, according to the Damascus-based ‘al-Watan’ newspaper.
The MP told the paper that the Turkish invasion of Syrian territories will not be confined to Jarablus, al-Raee and Mare’a areas and it will expand in the next stage to Tal Ref’at, Efrin and Kurdish self-management areas.
“The goal of the Turkish invasion is not to fight Daesh [ISIS], but to attack self-management in Qameshli, Efrin and Ein Arab,” MP. Oussi said, adding that the length of the area extends from Jarablus to Tal Ref’at , Ezaz and Efrin is 120 kilometer.
“The Turkish invasion is a rehearsal for other invasions into Syria,” he asserted, pointing out that the Turkish forces will move in the next weeks towards east of Euphrates river and they will target People’s Protection Units and The Syrian Democratic Forces because Turkey sees that this area poses a threat to the Turkish National Security.
“Erdogan has used the ‘Free army’ as a tool to guarantee Turkey’s interests in any political negotiations and to used the safe area against the Syrian state,” MP. Oussi clarified, affirming that Erdogan and his army would not be able to invade Syrian territories without receiving green light from NATO, which was approved by the United States.
He stressed that the U.S. is a pragmatic state and it will sell the Kurds out at any time to its ally, Turkey. “The U.S. is establishing now tactical relations with the People’s Protection Units because it needs fighters to liberate some areas in order to use this politically in the coming negotiations on Syria,” the MP added.
He asked the Syrian political leadership not to trust Erdogan government as it will never change its stances towards Syria.
“Turkey will never turn and it tries to use duplicity with Russia and Iran. The recent Turkish remarks towards Syria are worthless,” MP. Oussi concluded.
