‘Peace Lens’ project makes films on Syria

One year ago, three Syrian young men working in film making received an approval from the United Nations Development Programme  (UNDP) to finance their project called ‘ peace lens’.

The project includes several workshops on recorded films depicting peaceful co-existence and suffering of Syrian people, according to the Lebanese Assafir newspaper.

The paper indicated that five workshops were held in Damascus, Homs, Tartous, Hama and Lattakia provinces where scores of young people obsessed with film making took part.

Ibrahim Milhim, 27 years old , said that a 50-member-team interested in film making was formed during the five workshops that aim to consolidate the idea of recorded film as a peaceful way to express opinion.

“In 60 days, we depicted the traditions, habits and accents of Syrian people,” he added.

On his part, the coordinator of the project,  Bashar Majdalawi, 24, said that the workshops aims to build bridges between the cities through the peace lens and to exchange viewpoints

In the near future, the team of ‘peace lens’ will hold a workshop in Hasaka province.

Since 2011, a foreign-backed terror war has been waged on Syria targeting its people, army, civilization and infrastructures in accordance with the US-Zionist plot that aims to fragment the region and to have hegemony over its wealth.
