With Support of Syrian Government UNRWA School Inaugurated in al-Sayyida Zainab Camp Area

DAMASCUS COUNTRYSIDE – The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) inaugurated on Monday Dlata/Beit Jabrin School in al-Sayyida Zainab Camp area in Damascus Countryside after it has been rebuilt with the support of the Syrian government and Japanese funding, SANA reported.

  Allan Adriansen, charges de affairs of UNRWA in Syria affirmed that the UNRWA will continue to offer everything in its power to ensure that the Palestinians are receiving the basic services in education, health and social services, and will make every effort to provide humanitarian aid to alleviate the suffering and pain of the displaced Palestinian refugees.

He expressed his appreciation for the facilitations and support of the Syrian government to rebuild the school, thanking the Education Ministry which offered 55 schools that helped UNRWA provid free education for 44597 Palestinian children in the basic education stage.

For his part, Director of the General Authority for Palestine Arab Refugees (GAPAR) Ali Mustafa pointed out that the school has been subject to sabotage by the armed terrorist groups who destroyed all the institutions and schools in the al-Sayyida Zainab Camp area, adding that the Syrian government and UNRWA, after the expulsion of these gangs from the Camp, coordinated their efforts to rebuild what has been ruined, including this school.

Dlata/Beit Jabrin School is for basic education students and has the capacity to accommodate for 1364 students.
