TEHRAN, (ST)- Hussein Amir Abdollahian, Advisor of the Speaker of the Iranian Shoura Council for International Affairs has stressed that the United States had agreed on a deal on the cessation of hostilities in Syria in order to assist the terrorist organizations after they were defeated by the Syrian army at several fronts.
In an interview with the Beirut-based al-Mayadeen TV on Thursday, Abdollahian said Turkey has been reassessing its policies in the region, including Syria, after the emergence of several positive signs. He pointed out that the latest Egyptian stances on the crisis in Syria were also realistic.
The Iranian official asserted that the most active country as regards terrorism in Syria is Saudi Arabia, noting that Saudi can’t attack its neighbors without a cover by the United States.
“Saudi Arabia committed crimes in Yemen in order to achieve victory there and it is trying to make gains in negotiations on Yemen after it has failed to make gains on ground,” Abdollahian said.
