Arshak Poladian documents Arab-Armenian relations in a book

Armenia’s Ambassador to Syria Dr. Arshak Poladian has underscored that his country has balanced relations with all countries in all fields, indicating that several agreements and protocols have been signed as a result of the Arab-Armenian dialogue.

He said in his book entitled ‘Armenia’s past and present’ that the Armenian people proved to the world that they are able to establish a country.

“After the collapse of the Soviet Union, the Armenian people chose independence and declared the establishment of their republic. This was a turning point in Armenia’s history in political, economic and social fields,” the author clarified.

He underlined that Armenia followed the policy of peaceful coexistence with all neighboring countries in order to achieve security and peace to its people.

“We must benefit from the historic experience and unify all forces to confront terrorism which threatens the whole region,” Dr.  Poladian said, asserting that the bilateral relations between Armenia and Syria have developed in all fields.

On September 22, 2016, The Armenian Embassy in Damascus held a reception ceremony at the ‘Dama Rose’ Hotel marking the 25th anniversary of Armenia Independence Day.

“Armenia’s independence in 1991 in accordance with a referendum was the only choice of the Armenian people which have adhered to their independence and sovereignty throughout history,” the ambassador said during the ceremony.

He added that his country builds its relations with the countries and nations of the world on the basis of mutual respect and common interests.

In February 2015, a signing ceremony of the book entitled “Eye Witnesses to the Armenian Genocide under the Ottoman Empire” by the ambassador was held for commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.

Dr. Poladian was born in 1950 in Ras al-Eyn area in Syria and he occupied several positions in Armenia and in the Soviet Union.
