Damascus, (ST) – With the participation of dozens of national industrial companies specialized in Garment Industry, activities of Syria Mod “autumn and winter 2017”specialized in fashion and leather kicked off yesterday at Dama Rose Hotel in Damascus. The event is organized by the Syrian Exporters’ Federation and Damascus Chamber of Industry with the support of the Ministries of Industry, Economy and Foreign Trade.
The Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade, Dr. Adib Mayaleh underlined that the broad participation in the exhibition confirms that industrialists are steadfast and able to get out of the crisis experienced by the country, adding that Syria, despite the crisis is still exporting to 80 countries.
For his part, Deputy Minister of Industry Dr. Jamal Al-Omar said that the participation of dozens of companies in this exhibition shows the recovery of Syrian industry and the continued activity of Syrian industrialists during this period and their steadfastness and support for the national economy, pointing out that the Ministry of Industry will spare no effort in supporting national industry, especially the provision of all facilities and support needed to enable industry sector to take a role in the process of development and the advancement of the national economy.
For his part, Head of the of Syrian Exporters’ Federation, Mohammed al Sawah explained that organizing many of the shows confirms that the industry has recovered and took off again, pointing out that many of the markets in the region are open for the Syrian products in addition to the Iranian market.
For his part, Chairman of Damascus Chamber of Industry Samer al -Debs highlighted the importance of this exhibition in enhancing national industry, finding local agents for industrialists and producers and covering the needs of the local market.
For his part, the secretary of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce Muhammad Hamsho pointed to the government’s interest in supporting the national industry, exhibitions and that many of the contracts were signed, which gives impetus to national industry to continue to work and production and export to the overseas market, referring to the ability of the Syrian industrial products to compete other products in quality and prices.
The Director General of Support and Development of Domestic Production and Exports Ihab Ismander said that the government is working in cooperation with a number of stakeholders on the development of numerous exhibitions and revitalization, including Syria Mod exhibition in terms of quality and the products reflect to a large extent the development of Syrian industry and its ability to be a locomotive of real growth to Syrian economy.
Present at the opening ceremony were ambassadors of several countries and representatives of diplomatic missions accredited in Damascus and members of the boards of directors of Industrial Chambers of Commerce and a host of economic actors and businessmen.
