Syrian Clans Council, Social, Party Figures Renew Rejection to a So-Called Federation in Northern Syria

HASSAKA, (ST)- The Council of Syrian Clans and Tribes in cooperation with social and party figures on Tuesday organized a rally to voice support for the territorial integrity of the Syrian territory and to stress rejection to establishing a so-called “federation in northern Syria”.

In a statement, the council stressed that “announcing the so-called federation in northern Syria comes within the framework of the suspicious fragmentation schemes prepared by certain US-linked political parties that receive their orders from America.”

“The federation scheme is a separatist call directed and planned by the United States and the Zionist entity in order to fragment Syria and sow seeds of sedition among the Syrians,” according to the statement.

The statement warned of the danger of such a step on local peace and on the unity of the Syrian state and people, urging “awareness by the Syrians against this unconstitutional step that contradicts the Syrian sovereignty.”

The statement affirmed the council’s” rejection to ant hegemony plan imposed by any political or military faction on the locals in the area.”

Participants in the rally called on “all political parties and local society commissions to work together as to prevent all who want to lead the homeland to the unknown. They also urged  forming anti-federation committee that fight all division calls and enhance adherence to constitution.”

Some participants told SANA that the federation project threatens peace and security in Hassaka province and serves the agenda of Zionism and the American gangs who seek dividing and weakening the region.
