Washington Admits US-Led Coalition’s Airstrikes Killed Civilians in Syria

WASHINGTON, (ST)- the United States has admitted that many civilians were killed in new airstrikes carried out by the warplanes of the so-called Washington-led anti-ISIS coalition on some Syrian areas.

The United States is leading a coalition allegedly to fight “Deash” terrorist organization in Syria and Iraq. The coalition comprises states that are directly involved in supporting terrorism in the two countries. It is an illegal alliance as it didn’t get the approval of the Security Council and because it has carried out  its operations without coordination with the Syrian government.

AFP quoted the US Central Command in the Middle East (CENTCOM) as saying in a statement on Tuesday that  its airstrikes over the past six days against “Deash” positions in Syria “may have resulted in civilian casualties.”

The statement added that the airstrikes, which took place on September 7th, 10th and 12th, 2016, targeted civilians near the cities of Raqqa, Deir EzZour and al-Shaddadah area in Hassaka countryside.

Last July, the French warplanes operating within the US-led coalition committed a massacre in Tokhan al-Kubra village, northern Manbej city in Aleppo countryside. More than 120 civilians were martyred  and many others were injured. In addition, the American warplanes also committed similar crimes against civilians in Manbej  and other Syrian areas.
