First tourist village in Syria to be set up during Masts Camp

The Syrian Exploration and Documentation Society in cooperation with Ministry of Tourism and The National Union of Syrian Students (NUSS) will hold the Masts Camp’s activities on September 9th in Mashqita area in Lattakia province.

The activities include setting up a tourist village, recreational and sports competitions and lectures about adherence to land and individual’s responsibility towards society, according to the official news agency (SANA).

The agency quoted the leader of the activities in the society Mr. Khalid Nwilati as saying that the Masts Camp is the 26th development training camp and it will last till September 16.

“The camp aims to restore Mashqita area  [ also known as the seven lakes] to the tourist map, to reinvest the area with protecting the natural reserves, to set up the first natural tourist village in Syria and to train youths on how to make the environmental natural tourism,” Mr. Nwilati added.

The Syrian Exploration and Documentation Society was established in 2008 in Damascus and it seeks to discover and document the Syrian nature and to give the youths the opportunity to discover it.

Since 2011, a foreign-backed terror war has been waged on Syria targeting its people, army, civilization and infrastructures in accordance with the US-Zionist plot that aims to fragment the region and to have hegemony over its wealth.
