Tehran, Moscow Have Adopted Firm Strategy on Syria, Says Amir Abdollahian

Tehran – Special Aide to Parliament Speaker for International Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said on Monday that Tehran and Moscow have adopted a firm strategy about a settlement to the crisis in Syria.

Amir-Abdollahian made the remarks in a meeting with Russian Ambassador to Tehran Levan Jagarian.

Amir-Abdollahian said that expansion of parliamentary relations will serve interest of both countries to help maintain stability and security of the region.

On currentcrises in Syria, Yemen and Bahrain, he said that the Islamic Republic of Iran calls for collective action of the international community against terrorism and its eradication to help restore stability and security to the entire region.

Amir-Abdollahian said that the Saudi government has perpetrated crimes against humanity and war crimes in Yemen by indiscriminate bombardment of the civilian targets in Yemen.

Expansion of parliamentary cooperation between Iran and Russia help bolster bilateral relations and brings more coordination between the two sides, he said.

The Russian ambassador for his part hailed the positive and constructive measures of the Iranian Majlis to uphold parliamentary and political and economic relations.

Expansion of parliamentary relations between the two countries leave major impacts on mutual, mutual and international relations and Moscow attaches significant importance to such cooperation, said the Russian ambassador.

The Russian officials are willing to expand cooperation with Iran on regional developments, the Russian ambassador said.

In the next term of the Russian State Duma after the next month parliamentary elections, new phase of parliamentary cooperation will open.

Russia backs Iran’s return to pre-sanctions oil production levels

On the other hand in Moscow, Russian President Vladimir Putin says that, it will be fair for Iran if the country pump as much oil as it used to produce before imposition of the international sanctions.

Putin made the remarks on Monday at a news conference following a G20 summit in China, reports by the international media suggest.

The Russian president also said he believes the current oil price is unfair.

He said Moscow was nonetheless satisfied with the price of oil, despite that perceived unfairness.
