Five more breaches of cessation of hostilities agreement observed

Lattakia – The Hmeimim-based Russian Coordination Center monitoring the cessation of hostilities agreement in Syria announced that over the past 24 hours, the terrorist groups breached the agreement 5 more times as the total number of the breaches since the agreement came into force reached 1153, SANA reported.

The center added in a statement on Sunday that terrorists of the so-called Jaish al-Islam attacked with mortar shells a number of towns in Damascus and its Countryside, and terrorist groups affiliated of the so-called al-Qafqaz targeted the village of al-Zoweikat in the northern countryside of Lattakia.

 

6 new areas in Lattakia province have joined the cessation of hostilities agreement in Syria as the total number of the towns and areas which joined the agreement reached 554, according to the Russian center.

The statement stressed that Jabhat al-Nusra and ISIS terrorists continue their attempts to foil the agreement as they targeted the neighborhoods and towns of Damascus, Aleppo, Daraa and Hama.

The cessation of hostilities agreement doesn’t include ISIS, Jabhat al-Nusra or other groups designated as terrorist organizations by the UN Security Council.
