Foreign Delegations’ Visits to Syria Uncover Western Media’s Falsification Policy

DAMASCUS, (ST)- President Bashar Al-Assad on Sunday received a British delegation comprising some members of the Houses of Commons and Lords in addition to academics and men of religion.

Talks dealt with the situation in Syria and the terrorist war waged on the country in addition to means of facing the danger of extremism and terrorism which have started to spread in the world.

President Al-Assad stressed that the spread of extremist thinking within societies of the region and the world has become the biggest danger currently threatening the world, because this kind of thinking has formed a fertile soil for the terrorism which has hit several areas in Europe and the West in general.

 Eliminating terrorism necessitates fighting the ideology on which it was based not only fighting it on ground, President Al-Assad added.

According to President Al-Assad, the visits of foreign delegations to Syria to know what is really going on in the country can greatly contribute to clarifying the image and uncovering the falsification policy of most western media outlets, particularly as these media outlets adopt certain political agendas that serve the interests of the governments not the peoples.

  On their part, members of the guest delegation stressed that by visiting Syria and meeting Syrian officials and citizens they will be able to convey the truth about Syria, to correct the wrong image the British government and many Britons have about what is really going on in the country and to explain the huge suffering caused to the Syrians because of terrorism.
