Tehran, (ST) –Some 40 Syrian companies with the participation of the Syrian Exporters’ Federation and Damascus Chamber of Industry took part in the Tehran International Exhibition of Clothing and Textile, which was opened yesterday.
Iranian Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Reza Rahmani said during his visit to the Syrian Pavilion “We are very pleased with the participation of Syria and Syrian companies in this exhibition which is very important because it shows the steadfastness of the Syrian people despite the circumstances of the war, the siege and the situation is going through.”
“We congratulate the Syrian people’s on this massive participation in terms of quality, quantity and price,” stressing that the production and the manufacturing sector are considered an important for steadfastness and persistence of the Syrian economic and industrial activities, and we welcome the joint cooperation between the Syrian and Iranian companies,” Rahmani added.
For his part, Deputy President of the Syrian – Iranian Economic Committee Biman Keyan Marz said “The Syrian participation is very important and enhances economic cooperation, where Iranian companies acquaint the various Syrian companies and products.”
He pointed out that Iranian companies will take part soon in an exhibition in Syria, stressing the importance of the participation of private sector in this event to expand and promote more cooperation between the two sides.
For his part, Head of the Syrian Exporters’ Federation Mohamed al -Sawah said that “the Iranian markets are important for Syrian goods, in particular that the prices are competitive, especially after entering the free trade agreement, signed with Iran, into force and to accept the Iranian side tariff cuts on Syrian goods up to 4 percent.”
“We seek to find new markets and new consumers of Syrian goods, where we are working on twinning between the Syrian Exporters’ Federation and the Damascus Chamber of Industry and working to introduce our products in all targeted markets,” Mr. al -Sawah added.
“We share with the largest exhibition and our pavilion is the biggest in the exhibition and with the participation of forty national companies. The companies vary in terms of quantity and quality and we will have the presence of the largest in the future in other markets because the textile sector is an important in Syria,” Mr. al -Sawah pointed out.
The Syrian pavilion witnessed a large turnout since the early hours and the Iranian citizens saw a cheap price and good quality, expressing their desire to shop despite the fact that now the show is for display and not for sale.
It is worth mentioned that the Syrian Exporters” Federation recently opened a center for Syrian exports in Tehran to the benefit of Syrian exporters to help them market their products in the Iranian market and to acquaint the requirements of the Syrian goods.
