HASAKA, (ST)- The Syrian government and the “Asayish”, the military wing of the Kurdistan Workers Party on Friday exchanged kidnapped and arrested persons within the framework of an agreement to halt fighting in Hassaka.
A security source told SANA reporter that the authorities released 10 arrested pro-Asayish persons and was handed over all the persons previously kidnapped by “Asayish” force from different areas in Hassaka during their recent attacks on citizens and residential districts in a bid to control the city.
On Wednesday, the two sides exchanged, the injured and bodies of the dead on both sides and the Hasaka-Qamishli road was opened for normal traffic movement. Services establishments re-operated bakeries and fixed the damage caused to the establishments and the infrastructure because of the Asayish attacks.
Some Syrian army unites and security forces keep their presence in Hassaka to protect the citizens and their properties and to meet their needs within the framework of the Syrian state’s keenness on the safety of the citizens of Hassaka and on enhancing dialogue to solve disputes.
