MOSCOW- Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has called on the United States to stand by its promise to separate the Washington-Backed so-called “moderate opposition’ from terrorist groups in Syria.
“They had better look in the mirror and implement what they have been promising since January – detach the opposition, that they consider to be loyal, from the terrorists. Either they cannot or they do not want to do this,” Lavrov explained to reporters, according to Itar Tass.
“They should better look at themselves,” Lavrov told reporters.
Over the past six months, Russia has been calling on the US to separate the so-called “moderate Syrian opposition” that enjoys the West’s support from the terrorists of Daesh and Jabhat Al-Nusra terror groups.
Lavrov has stated many times that UN Security Council’s Resolution 2254 passed in December 2015 says that the ceasefire does not apply to these terrorist groups.
