Syria Wins Three Bronze Medals in International Informatics Olympiad in Russia

DAMASCUS, (ST)- The Syrian Science Olympiad team participating in the International Informatics Olympiad in Russia has got three bronze medals. The new Syrian achievement, which enhances the process of invention and excelling in the country, was made by students Bishr al-Masri, Mahmoud Hassan and Samir Droubi.

 In a statement to SANA,  Head the National Commission of the Syrian Science Olympiad Emad al-Azeb hailed the performance of the Syrian Science Olympiad’s talented contestants, saying that the informatics team has scored the highest results in its international participations.

 “This result couldn’t have been achieved without the support being provided to knowledge and scientific excelling in Syria,” al-Azeb said, adding that “all difficult circumstances, wars and crises won’t affect the Syrians’ determination to confront challenges and make notable achievements in international events.”

Recently, the Syrian Science Olympiad Mathematics team won three bronzes and three certificates of appreciation in the international mathematics Olympiad in Hong Kong. The Chemistry team won three bronzes and a certificate of appreciations in the competitions  held in Georgia, while the  Physics team won a certificate of appreciation.
