Russian Forces will Stay in Syria Enough Time to Support the Syrian Army

MOSCOW, (ST)- Chairman of the Russian State Duma Defense Committee, Admiral Vladimir Komoyedov has announced that the Russian Military group in Syria will stay in the country for a considerable period of time as to support the Syrian Arab Army in its battle against the terrorists.

Talking to journalists in Moscow on Tuesday, Komoyedov said he believed that “the Russian forces will keep their presence in Syria for enough period of time according to necessity.”

 “The main goal is to help the Syrian Arab Army clear the country from terrorists so as the government can restore normal situation and we will help them do this,” Komoyedov added.

On Monday, the First Deputy Chairman of the Russian Federation Council Committee for Defense and Security Franz Klintsevich affirmed to journalists that the Russian air force will continue striking  terrorists’ positions in Syria until terrorism is eliminated.
