Fierce Battles between Army and Terrorists in Military Academies Area in southern Aleppo, Army Determined to Smash Terrorists

 ALEPPO, (ST)- The Syrian Arab Army in cooperation with supporting forces continued its fight against terrorist groups in southern Aleppo and engaged in fierce battles with them in the military academies area into which the terrorists managed to infiltrate late today, a military source told SANA on Saturday.   

The Army is determine to smash the terrorist groups and foil their goals, the source stressed.

  Combat operations continue in south and southwestern Aleppo, where the army inflicted heavy losses upon the terrorists, the source said.

It stressed that the terrorist groups failed to break the siege imposed by the army on the terrorists in the eastern neighborhoods of Aleppo.

According to the source, anti-Syria media outlets are waging a broad psychological war in which they keep broadcasting and publishing fabricated videos and photos aiming to affect the morale of the citizens, to mislead the public opinion and to drive attention away from the terrorists’ losses in today’s battles.

SANA reporter in Aleppo said the southern and southwestern areas of Aleppo was the target of a violent terrorist attack Saturday evening.

Earlier in the day, a military source announced that the Syrian Army’s Air Force isolated with fire control the operations area in the surroundings of the military academies in southern Aleppo in a way that supports the army forces that are clearing the positions into which the terrorist groups earlier infiltrated.

The Air Force has intensified strikes and managed to curb the terrorist groups’ movement in southwestern Aleppo and cut off with fire control the routes leading into the city, according to SANA.

In the same context, the Air Force hit and destroyed tens of vehicles for terrorist organizations in al-Zirbeh, al-Rashidin, Orum al-Kobra, Khan al-Asal, Maaret al-Nouman and Saraqeb in the direction of Aleppo.

Earlier, the source said that the army units defending the military academies to the south of Aleppo city, backed by the air force and artillery, have inflicted heavy losses on the Takfiri terrorist groups which renewed attacks along the axis of the academies with large numbers.

The army units, backed by the Syrian Air Force and Artillery, engaged in fierce clashes against the attacking terrorist groups, according to the source, who noted that a number of terrorists were killed and many of them were injured in the clashes.

Thousands of terrorists, most of them mercenaries, attacked the axis of the academies with car bombs at midnight.

The reporter added that scores of terrorists were killed in the clashes and others were injured and a large number of their vehicles and equipment were destroyed.

The terrorist groups also fired tens of rocket shells on al-Ramousa area and on al-Hamadaniyeh neighborhood in Aleppo City, leaving a number of civilians dead or injured and causing huge material damage.
