Cooperation between Syria, Iran and Russia to Continue until Terrorism is Defeated: Abdullahian

TEHRAN, (ST)- Hussein Amir Abdullahian, Assistant of the Iranian Shura Council Speaker for International Affairs, has asserted that cooperation between Syria, Iran and Russia in the fight against terrorism is a message to supporters of terrorist trakfiri groups affirming that the goal of defeating the terrorists is irreversible.

Meeting Syria’s Ambassador in Tehran Adnan Mahmoud on Saturday, Abdullahian said “any political solution to the crisis in Syria won’t be fruitful as long as the foreign-backed takfiri terrorists seek achieving their sinister goals. He reiterated  Iran’s support for political solution in Syria and for the war on terrorism.

The Iranian official pointed out that the United States’ stance has played a main role in escalating terrorism in the region. The U.S. didn’t provide any help in combating terrorism,, rather it used terrorism in Syria as a card in the forthcoming American presidential elections.

Abdullahian and the Syrian Ambassador affirmed joint action as to boost the strategic relations between the two countries and expand them to cover all areas of cooperation including coordination between the parliamentarians of both countries with the purpose of pressuring the terrorist takfiri organizations and taking effective steps to combat terrorism in the region.

On his part, the Ambassador Mahmoud talked about the strategic gains being made by the Syrian Arab Army, supported by its allies, in Aleppo and in different Syrian areas.

Mahmoud renewed Syria’s appreciation over Iran’s leadership and people’s support for Syria in the confrontation of the terrorist war and in consolidation of the steadfastness of the Syrian people.
