Damascus, (ST) – A joint meeting was held between the Syrian Exporters Federation (SEF) and Damascus Chamber of Industry. The participants discussed ways to facilitate the procedures of shipping Syrian goods to the Iranian market.
Chairman of the Syrian Exporters Federation Mohammed al Sawah explained that this meeting comes within the activities initiated by the SFE with its partners from the local economic activities and after signing the free trade agreement with Iran and accept of the Iranian side the tariff cuts up to 4 percent.
In a statement to local press, Mr. al –Sawah said that the meeting was fruitful of the point of the agreement on simplified procedures to help exporters and industrialists to deliver their goods to Iran and overcome the obstacles that may face the exporters during the export process and to develop a clear roadmap towards facilitating export procedures in cooperation with partners from economic activities and private industrialists.
He pointed to the efforts of the SEFbeing exerted in supporting the economic activity, particularly in the provision of services that will strengthen and increase local exports to regional and global markets.
Mr. al Sawah also clarified the importance of facilitating foreign trade file, especially export procedures so as to support the competitiveness for the Syrian product, noting that “there are many problems and difficulties facing the sector and must be removed to support the national economy.”
Mr. al Sawah stressed that the meeting also discussed the procedures to participate in the textile exhibition and supplies of production, which will be held in Iran soon, whereas an invitation addressed from the Iranian side of the Syrian economic events to participate in the exhibition, which constitutes an economic event that would support the Syrian textile industry.
