Army Thwarts Terrorist Group’s Attempt to Infiltrate into Aleppo Citadel, Kills “Jabhet al-Nusra” Emir in Rastan
PROVINCES, (ST)- The Syrian Arab Army continued on Sunday to carry out operations against terrorists in different Syrian provinces and it managed to eliminate terrorists, thwart attacks and destroy more weapons, vehicles and equipment for terrorist organizations.
In Aleppo, an army unit thwarted a terrorist group’s attempt to infiltrate into Aleppo citadel through a tunnel, a military source told SANA.
The source said the army unit clashed with the terrorist group, eliminated all the terrorists of the group and destroyed their ammunition and weapons.
Terrorists affiliated to the so-called “Liwa Shuhada Badr”, Ahrar al-Sham” and “Faylaq al-Rahman” terror groups have heavy presence in several districts in Aleppo and receive arms and intelligence support from the Turkish and Saudi regimes to attack residential areas in the city.
“Emir of Jabhat al-Nusra in al-Rastan” killed
In Homs, the Syrian Air Force targeted gatherings of ISIS terrorists in Khneifees area, 40 km east of Homs city, a military source said, according to the state news agency SANA.
A number of terrorists were killed, others were injured and their vehicles, equipped with machine guns, were destroyed in the airstrikes.
ISIS terrorists also suffered heavy losses in their ranks and equipment as a result of army airstrikes that targeted their movements and fortified positions in the surroundings of Jeb al-Jarrah area, 72 km east of Homs city.
Meanwhile, a source on the ground confirmed the death of the “Emir of Jabhat al-Nusra in al-Rastan”, the terrorist Mahmoud Abdul-Karim Brouq, along with 10 members of his group in a special army operation carried out in the area between al-Ghajar and al-Zara villages in Homs northern countryside.
Army unit foils terrorists’ attempt to deliver gasoline to ISIS in Hama Countryside
In Hama, a Syrian army unit managed on Sunday to foil an attempt by terrorists to deliver gasoline to ISIS extremists in Hama eastern countryside.
The operation is part of the army’s constant efforts to cut off ISIS supply routes.
An army unit clashed with a terrorist group while trying to convey a tanker carrying some 8000 liters of benzene from Wadi al-Atheb to ISIS terrorists in Uqayribat town, about 70 km east of Hama, a field sources told SANA reporter.
The clash, according to the source, ended up with seizing the tanker and injuring a number of terrorists who fled away to the eastern desert of Hama.
ISIS-affiliated terrorist groups continue to steal oil from wells in the Syrian Badia, refine it in primitive ways and smuggle part of it abroad, particularly to Turkey in direct coordination with Erdogan, members of his family and some Turkish regime officials.
In Deir Ezzor, a military source confirmed thwarting a terrorist attack launched by ISIS terrorists on a number of sites near al-Tharda Mountain in the southern countryside of Deir Ezzor province.
The terrorists used vehicles, most of them were packed with large amounts of explosives, in their attack attempt, the source told SANA.
The Syrian Air Force, however, launched intensive airstrikes on the terrorists’ convoy of vehicles in the area surrounding the mountain, completely destroying the vehicles, according to the source, who pointed out that many terrorists were killed, while others were injured as a result of the airstrikes.
In Daraa, an army unit destroyed a vehicle and fortifications for Jabhat al-Nusra terrorists in the vicinity of the Electricity Company and to the west of the old Customs’ building in Daraa al-Balad.
