Syrian Ghazal wins gold medal at Barcelona International Forum

Madrid – Syria’s Majd Eddin Ghazal won a gold medal in the high jump event (233 cm) at the currently held Barcelona International Forum.

Ghazal is a member of the Syrian national athletics team and he is preparing and training in Spain for participation in Rio de Janeiro 2016 Summer Olympic Games, due to be held on August 15th.

 Ghazal qualified for Rio Olympic Games after winning the gold medal (229 cm) at the Asian Grand Prix series 2015 in Thailand.

The Syrian champion led the 2016 world ranking list in high jump after he set a world lead at the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) World Challenge meeting in Beijing’s national stadium on May 18.
