JCPOA Reached Thanks to Supreme Leader Guidelines, People Resistance, Zarif Says

Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said here on Sunday that the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) has been reached thanks to the guidelines of the Supreme Leader of Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei and people’s resistance and prayers, IRNA reported.

Zarif made the remarks while attending Majlis (parliament) open session to give a report on Economy of Resistance and foreign investments.

Zarif reiterated that the anti-Iran sanctions would have been increased, if the JCPOA had not been reached.

He added that almost each month or year a new sanction was imposed against Tehran over the past years.

‘If anti-Iran sanctions had continued, Iran’s oil sale would have been reached less than 200,000 bpd and later close to zero,’ he said.

Zarif reiterated that thanks to Iranian people resistance and great efforts of Petroleum Ministry, Iran’s oil exports have currently reached 2,000,000 bpd.

Today, the new Majlis is holding its seventh session since it started work after the February 26 Majlis elections nationwide.

Certain countries seeking to sabotage nuclear deal, says Larijani

On the other hand, Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani said certain countries are trying to sabotage the nuclear agreement signed between Iran and six world countries.

He made the remarks while addressing the Sunday session of the Majlis after legislators listened to Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif who briefed them on the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action and its outcomes.

He urged the parliament, the government and other relevant bodies to vigilantly monitor all developments.

The speaker further hailed the efforts of the Iranian team in striking a nuclear deal after lengthy negotiations and said they endeavored to safeguard the rights of the Iranian nation.

However, he said, the Iranian foreign ministry had to remain vigilant towards the US excessive demands as tokens indicate that America as well as some other countries are seeking to press Iran again through channels other than nuclear issue.

Larijani also voiced parliament’s support for Zarif’s policy which is to enhance economic relations with world.
