France Sees No Durable Stability in Region without Iran

France sees no durable stability in the region without Iran’s help, President of the National Assembly of France Claude Bartolone said, according to IRNA.

During a phone conversation with his Iranian counterpart Ali Larijani, Bartolone congratulated him on his re-election as the speaker of Iran’s Majlis(parliament).

He expressed hope for enhancement of mutual ties particularly in the parliamentary domain.

Bartolone refereed to his upcoming visit to Iran and said French national assembly is interested in conferring with Iranian lawmakers, fighting against terrorism, expansion of bilateral ties particularly in field of economy as well as Iran-EU cooperation for establishment of peace and stability in the region.

He pointed to the importance of terrorism at the present time in talks between Tehran and Paris and said Iran should play his role and without Tehran, the region will not see durable peace.

Iranian parliament speaker for his part thanked his French counterpart, adding that consultations between the two countries’ lawmakers can facilitate boost of all-out ties between Tehran and France particularly in the area of economy.

He referred to the ongoing situation of the region and said there are important issues for discussion between Iranian and French lawmakers during the upcoming visit of French parliamentarian delegation to Iran.

Mutual ties and enhancement of economic relations, which entered a new phase after President Hassan Rouhani’s visit to Paris, is another topic that can be discussed between Iranian and French lawmakers, Larijani added.
