Army establishes control over new areas in Raqqa, inflicts losses on ISIS in Deir Ezzor

Raqqa/Deir Ezzor – Army and Armed Forces units on Friday established control over new areas in Raqqa province and inflicted heavy losses on ISIS terrorists in Deir Ezzor province, SANA reported.

Raqqa

Army units established control over new areas in the western countryside of Raqqa after eliminating the last ISIS gatherings in the area and destroying tens of its vehicles, according to a military source.

 

The source added that army units, in cooperation with popular defense groups, established control over al-Rasafa crossroads, the strategic triangle, the oil pumping station and al-Tabka electricity station.

The source pointed out that the army units have developed their operations on more than one axis in the area and cut off ISIS supply routes after destroying tens of heavy-equipped vehicles and killing large numbers of ISIS members.

Deir Ezzor

Army and Armed Forces units destroyed several gatherings of ISIS terrorists in Deir Ezzor city and its countryside.

A source on the ground said that the army targeted with concentrated fire gatherings of ISIS in al-Reshdiye neighborhood in Deir Ezzor city, Ayyash village in its western countryside, and the surroundings of al-Tharda Mountain in the western outskirts of the city, inflicting heavy losses in personnel and equipment on the terrorist organization.
