Minsk,(ST) – Homs province and Gomel province in Belarus signed a cooperation protocol and the study of major joint industrial projects in the industrial city of Hesya through the participation of the governor of Homs, Talal Barazi, a number of Syrian industrialists and businessmen in the 13th Annual Economic Conference in Gomel province in Belarus.
The governor of Homs pointed out that the cooperation protocol includes the benefit of the Belarusian experience in the issues of reconstruction and planning towns as well as visiting the free zones and the industrial city.
It was also decided to study the establishment of joint industrial projects, adding that the most important projects that have been studied including the project of reinforced concrete buildings and a project to assembly heavy vehicles.
In his speech at the conference on behalf of the Syrian delegation, Mr. al Barzi gave an explanation for reconstruction in the affected areas of Homs province, and the vision of the province according to the directions of the Syrian government for the future of the province for 2020.
He pointed to the welcome of the Belarusian side to provide all the necessary expertise in the field of planning and organization of cities and appreciation for the steadfastness of the Syrian people, confirming the depth of ties between the two peoples and the leaderships in Syria and Belarus.
The governor of Homs said that “a similar invitation will be addressed to the Governor of Gomel to visit Syria, accompanied by an official and technical delegation to promote cooperation,” where “the Belarusian side confirmed its readiness to meet the invitation before the end of this year.”
Some 43 countries including Russia, China, Finland, Kazakhstan, Ukraine and the Czech & Slovak Republics took part in the 13th Annual Economic Conference in Gomel province.
